Some Questions You May Have

FAQs

Who is The Photo Table for?

The Photo Table is for photographers and visual creatives in the Orlando area — all genres, all experience levels. We also welcome videographers, designers, and anyone working with (or passionate about) visual storytelling.

If you care about the work and want community, you’re in the right place.

Do I need to be a professional photographer?

Nope. Full-time, part-time, hobbyist, student, or somewhere in between — all are welcome. This isn’t about titles or resumes. It’s about connection and growth.

What happens at a meetup?

Meetups are casual and conversation-based. You can expect:

  • A warm welcome and low-pressure introductions

  • Open conversation around creativity, business, and real-life experiences

  • Time to connect one-on-one or in small groups

Some meetups may include light structure or prompts, but nothing lecture-style or salesy.

Do I need to bring my camera or portfolio?

Nope! But you’re always welcome to bring stuff! Occasionally we may host photo walks or creative play sessions where cameras are encouraged, but most meetups are simply about connecting.

Is this a networking event?

Not in the traditional sense. There are no name tags, pitches, or forced networking. The goal is to build real relationships — the kind that naturally lead to collaboration and support over time.

Is there a cost to attend?

Some meetups are free, and some may have a small fee to cover the space, drinks, or supplies. Any cost will always be clearly listed ahead of time.

Can I promote my services or sell at meetups?

The Photo Table is a sales-free space. We’re here to build relationships first. That said, sharing what you do and what you’re working on is always welcome — just no hard selling.

I’m introverted/shy. Will this be awkward?

We’ve got you. Meetups are intentionally designed to be warm and welcoming, with gentle structure to make connecting easier — even if walking into a room full of creatives feels intimidating.

You’re not alone in feeling that way.

Is this inclusive and beginner-friendly?

Yes — and intentionally so. The Photo Table is built on inclusivity, respect, and curiosity. We value different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences, and we’re committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment for everyone.

How often do you meet?

Meetups are currently being planned. As things are scheduled, the website will be updated. Join the list to stay in the loop.

How do I stay connected between meetups?

Still have questions?

Totally fair. Feel free to reach out — happy to chat.
